Good Afternoon,

There has been a lot of news this week, from many states reporting record numbers of Covid-19 cases, the hospitalization of a Supreme Court Justice, and the cancellation of the 2021 Rose Parade (the first time since World War II). The market has remained resilient although finishing Thursday in the negative due to shares of major tech companies struggling and mixed corporate earnings and economic data.

With Covid cases continuing to spike across the nation, congressional leaders are hoping to have another coronavirus aid package ready by the end of the month. The administration and congress agree that more funds are needed to help families, businesses, and the national economy, however, they do not necessarily agree on what should be included in this package. Stay tuned a new stimulus package could be introduced as early as next week.

Last week life seemed like it was starting to get somewhat back to normal and then we were hit with record numbers of coronavirus cases in multiple states, and the shutdowns began all over again. Although this may be disheartening to some, the good news is more progress is being made on a vaccine. Moderna along with the National Institutes of Health developed an experimental vaccine that has built up people’s immune systems the way scientists had hoped. The shots will begin key final testing in the next few weeks. Fingers crossed!

Below is the most recent data on Covid-19 cases:
