Apriem Cares is your partner in philanthropy!

Despite the constraints of a COVID-19 community, Apriem has continued to serve and care through its donation of time and resources to support a diverse array of philanthropic endeavors. We encourage and support our staff in their personal volunteer work to the causes that are dear to them. We connect people so that, together, our communities will thrive.

Here are just a few of the things we were involved in the last three months. Visit our Apriem Cares page for more information.

June 2021: Harmon Kong, Rhonda Ducote, Benjamin Lau, and Shawn Covarrubias, along with their spouses, attended the Night of Joy NEGU Gala!  It was a spectacular sunset and evening under the stars that raised awareness and much needed funds to bring joy to kids and families impacted by childhood cancer and encourage them to NEGU “Never Ever Give Up.”

Annually, Apriem partners with The Jessie Rees Foundation to help continue sending JoyJars to kids and families battling cancer. These kids with cancer are one of the most at-risk groups for COVID-19. Throughout the years, Apriem Service Days involved stuffing JoyJars at the NEGU factory where staff, spouses and kids are all involved in the fun.

June 2021: Congratulations to the Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS-OC) Class of 2021! Our VP-Finance, Jennifer Olson and her husband, have been Abbie’s mentors for 10 years. During Abbie’s high school graduation, the “Big Couple” we committed to the BBBS-OC Post-18 Program with her, an 18 to 25 y/o program that will help college-bound littles get the support they need with school and their careers. 10 years down, 7 more years at the Post-18 program, and a lifetime of friendship to go! Watch Abbie’s message to her mentors here.

Over the years, Abbie has visited our office for “Bring Your Little to Work Day” and our Irvine office has served as a hub for their study and mentoring sessions.  Apriem is excited to continue walking alongside our Staff on the causes that they are passionate about!

June 2011: Apriem sponsored Point Loma Nazarene University’s Center for Justice & Reconciliation (CJR) annual Hope Rising event benefiting their anti-human trafficking initiatives that include scholarship that allows survivors of sex trafficking to attend the university tuition-free.

Apriem’s support is in honor of two PLNU Alumni, our staff Christopher Whitaker and Sunni Allen.

June 2011: In lieu of our cancelled service day, we jumped on and increased our planned donation to $25k for domestic COVID efforts and global economic empowerment program THRIVE.

In 2019 and 2020, Harmon Kong travelled with World Vision to Bangladesh, to witness hundreds of lives being lifted out of extreme poverty and visited the largest refugee camp in the world located in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh near the Myanmar boarder.

June 2021: Apriem is proud to support the Southern California Hospice Foundation through the Preserving Diginity Campaign!

The Preserving Dignity Campaign represents 7 Orange County non-profits coming together to support older adults in need.

Rhonda Ducote serves on the advisory board of the Southern California Hospice Foundation.

June 2011: Apriem showed support to The Orange County Professional Firefighters Association during their Seventh Annual First Responders Cup. The event raised funds to augment the Fallen Firefighters Relief Fund, which helps Orange County Firefighters and their families in case of injury or fatality.

Apriem thanks our Orange County Firefighters for your service!

April 2021: Apriem was thrilled to celebrate the Jessie Rees Foundation (JRF) during their 10-year anniversary! Pictured is our Staff and spouses proudly wearing our NEGU 10th anniversary shirt.

Lindsay Duran is a founding member of JRF Young Professionals Network, a compassionate group of young professionals that gather together to use their lives to give back to the mission of the Jessie Rees Foundation and grow professionally.

June 2011: Apriem joined the battle to fight homelessness in the City of Angels through Union Rescue Mission’s Angels of Hope Special 2021 aired on KCAL9 Los Angeles.

Located in the heart of Skid Row, Union Rescue Mission is a refuge of help and hope. A safe haven where men, women, and children can get the guidance and support they need to live a life transformed.
